Server Perks &
Commands Explained

August 2026 6 min read RUSTPVE.com Team

Modded PVE servers run dozens of quality-of-life plugins, and almost none of them announce themselves. There's no tutorial popup telling you that you can recycle from anywhere, or that your furnace will split ore for you if you let it.

The result is players — including paying members — who never use half of what's available to them. This is the reference page for that. Every command, what it actually does, and which tier it needs.

💡

Already a member? Skim the table below anyway. The two commands people most often forget they have are /rec and /kit — and they're the two that save the most time.

Every Command at a Glance

CommandWhat it doesTier
/rec or /vrOpens a recycler anywhere in the worldGreen+
/kitClaim your members starter kitGreen+
/backpackOpens your extra inventory slotsGreen+
/skinApply a skin to an item in your inventoryGreen+
/skinitemSkin an item already placed in the worldGreen+
/vmSell 1000+ quantities at a vending machineGreen+
/vipClaim your free daily supply dropBlue+
/dayTurns your base lights on at nightBlue+
/silPut an image from a URL onto a signBlue+
/heliSpawns a patrol heli that targets only you and your team (24h cooldown)Red+

Some perks aren't commands at all — they're passive and simply happen. Furnace splitting, faster smelting, one-hit gathering, larger stacks and the quick-upgrade interface all work automatically once your tier is active.

The Three That Matter Most

♻️ Virtual Recycler

Green and above

Type /rec or /vr anywhere and a recycler opens in front of you. Same speed, same ratios, same output as the ones bolted to monuments — it just doesn't require walking to one.

The real trick is using it mid-run rather than at home. Clear a monument, recycle the junk where you stand, and walk out carrying scrap and components instead of a bag of low-value parts. You'll fit two to three times the value in the same inventory.

What it deletes: the return trip. This is the single most time-saving perk on the server, and it's in the cheapest tier.

🔥 Furnace Splitter

Green and above

Drop a stack of ore into a furnace and it distributes evenly across every available slot instead of piling into one. No command, no configuration — it just behaves the way you always wanted it to.

Without it, a thousand metal ore dumped in one slot smelts serially while the rest of the furnace does nothing. With it, the whole furnace works at once.

What it deletes: both the manual sorting and a large chunk of the actual smelting wait.

🔨 Base Quick Upgrade & Repair

Green and above

Look at your tool cupboard and an interface appears letting you upgrade or repair the whole building at once, instead of hammering every block individually.

If you've ever upgraded a two-storey base to stone by hand, you know this is twenty minutes of clicking. It becomes one interaction.

What it deletes: the most tedious click-work in base building.

Two Setup Steps Worth Doing Once

Bind your backpack to a key

Typing /backpack every time gets old fast. Open the F1 console and enter:

bind b backpack.open

Now B opens your backpack instantly. Backpack size scales with tier — 12 extra slots on Green, 24 on Blue, 42 on Red and Purple. On a monument run those slots are the difference between one trip and two.

Claim your kit at the start of every wipe

Wipes land on the first Thursday of every month. Type /kit as soon as you spawn — the members kit is designed to skip the opening stretch, so you start with tools and gear rather than a rock and a torch. Forgetting this is the most common way members waste the thing they're paying for.

⚠️

Kits and daily drops don't stockpile. /vip gives a supply drop each day — if you only play weekends, claim it when you log in rather than saving it up, because it doesn't accumulate.

What You Get Without Paying Anything

Worth stating plainly: the servers are free, every monument and event is open to everyone, and none of the above unlocks content. Memberships remove repetition — they don't gate anything.

If you're playing free, the highest-value things you can do cost nothing at all:

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a virtual recycler?

A perk that opens a recycler interface anywhere via /rec or /vr. It works exactly like a monument recycler but needs no travel, so you can break down loot at a monument, in your base, or standing over a body mid-run.

How do you open the backpack?

Type /backpack, or bind it: open F1 console and enter bind b backpack.open. Size depends on tier, from 12 extra slots up to 42.

What does the furnace splitter do?

It divides ore evenly across all furnace slots on deposit, instead of stacking it into one slot where it smelts serially. Uses the whole furnace at once and cuts total smelting time with no extra effort.

How do you get a kit?

Type /kit in chat to see what's available to you and claim it. Membership tiers include their own starter kit, designed to skip the opening stretch of a wipe.
